Focusing on listening for the lord.
Starting our day off going to the San Clemente church where we were able to start our morning peacefully, until tourist came in and began to be disruptive. As said in Mr. Cole’s challenge for the day of what do you want to tell me or what do want to show me was seen through these disruptive people. Although at times it was very difficult to focus it seemed like God was testing us in a way to show us that we need to practice getting these distractions and struggles out of ours minds. It showed us that if we can over come these voices in our heads during our pilgrimage, that everything will turn out to be amazing.
As we moved on through our day this challenge got easier as we went to 3 other Basilicas.
The one that touched me the most was Saint Mary Major, where we had two hours to look around and reflect really struck me with the beauty of all the artistic ability within the church and also getting hear the sound of recorded choirs echoing through the church. With so much time I got a lot of time to reflect on the daily challenge and to pray for all the intentions. I had so much time that I decided to keep praying by saying a whole Rosary and a whole Divine Mercy Chaplet. This was definitely the highlight of my day going to this church because it was so vibrant and brought me to realizing that they perfect every last bit of these churches. Then hearing that we got to go to mass there later made me excited to go back and get the opportunity to receive the blessed sacrament in that church. Another thing that Mr. Cole pointed out to us was the face of Bartholomew and the back story on how he had his face skinned and it is visible in one of statues at the St. John Lateran Basilica. Today was a blast and we got to see a lot of marvelous churches and attractions.
