Introduction to Mr. Siemann
Hello! My name is Chris Siemann and this is my 3rd
year teaching Theology at Strake Jesuit. I am a Notre Dame double graduate from the
suburbs of Chicago, so I am surprised to have ended up in Houston—and to have
enjoyed it as much as I have thus far! I am a parishioner at St. Francis de
Sales Catholic Church.
My biggest distraction will likely be mixing chaperone
duties with pilgrim opportunities. While I certainly look forward to all the
prayerful opportunities, my duty to facilitate these opportunities for the
seniors to maximize the potential of their experience comes first. I am sure
there will be a healthy tension there!
I am not quite sure what particular graces God has in store
for me this pilgrimage, and that excites me! In general, I do hope that,
throughout this experience, my soul can be turned further outward towards the
other and away from myself. As John the Baptist says, “He must increase; I must
decrease,” (John 3:30). I hope to decrease, open my hands, and make room for
God’s ever-increasing, ever-benevolent presence in my life.
Upon my return, I would hope that I can be a better vessel
for God’s work and word in my daily life. I hope that I can better point
directly to God in all that I say and do. I also look forward to taking all
these experiences back into the classroom with me!
Please pray for us and let us know of any intentions of
yours that we can carry with us.
